Precision Laser Cutting Services

Equipped with 6-axis capabilities, our advanced laser cutters can slice through aluminum, stainless and carbon steel material up to .75" in thickness, and 60" x 120" in width and length. By offering two laser types, CO2 (Gaseous) and Nd:YAG (Solid State), we possess the technology to perform 3-D cutting that can be used for products such as tubing.

Adding precision laser cutting capability to our menu of services was a natural progression for Central Ohio Metal Stamping.

Our custom laser cutting service gives our customer the ability to create custom parts from a variety of materials. Laser cutting also allows the realization of intricate designs that are too complex for creating by hand. We can laser cut almost anything you can draw, including sharp angles, smooth curves, small screw holes, and complex lace designs.

The addition of a Mazak 6-axis laser with CNC rotary chuck allows COMS to cut a wide range of part geometries:

  • Flat sheet and plate up to 120" x 60" x 5/8" thick
  • 3D cutting of tubes, I-beams, angles, and other shaped stock

Laser Configuration
Flying Optics
  • Flying optics lasers feature a stationary table and a cutting head (with laser beam) that moves over the work piece in both of the horizontal dimensions. Flying-optics cutters keep the work piece stationary during processing, and often don't require material clamping.
Hybrid
  • Hybrid lasers provide a table which moves in one axis (usually the X-axis) and move the head along the shorter (Y) axis. This results in a more constant beam delivery path length than a flying optic machine and may permit a simpler beam delivery system.
Moving Material
  • Moving material lasers have a stationary cutting head and move the material under it.
